SMACKIN — PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how smackin collects, uses, and shares information. By using the app you agree to this Policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
• Account & profile: email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), username, display name, bio, links, photos, account type (creator/restaurant).
• Content: videos, captions, comments, messages, and engagement (likes, saves, follows, subscriptions).
• Location: approximate location to show nearby restaurants, delivery estimates, and distance. With your permission we may use device location; otherwise we use a default/region you provide.
• Device & usage: device type, OS, app version, IP address, identifiers, and how you interact with the app (for analytics, security, and abuse prevention).
• Payments: handled by our payment processor and/or the App Store. We do not store full card numbers.

2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
To operate and improve the app; personalize your feed and recommendations; show nearby restaurants and delivery estimates; enable social features and messaging; process payments; communicate with you (including push notifications and emails you can opt out of); maintain safety, moderation, and security; and comply with law.

3. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
• Service providers who help us run the app (e.g., cloud hosting and database, video hosting/CDN, analytics, email, and payment processors), under contract and only as needed.
• Other users: your profile and public content (videos, comments, public activity) are visible to others. Direct messages are visible to participants. Authorized smackin staff may also access your content, including direct messages and profile details, to operate the service and for trust, safety, moderation, abuse-prevention, support, and legal-compliance purposes.
• Restaurants & delivery partners: when you tap to order, we hand off to a third-party partner subject to their own policies.
• Legal & safety: to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety.
• Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do NOT sell your personal information for money. Certain analytics/advertising activity may be considered "sharing/selling" under some state laws; see Section 6 to opt out.

4. LOCATION DATA
We use approximate location to power core features (nearby spots, delivery times, the map). You can control location permissions in your device settings. We do not display your exact home address to other users; any location shown to admins is aggregated/approximate.

5. DATA RETENTION & DELETION
We keep information while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations. You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Delete account, which permanently removes your account and associated personal data (some records may be retained as required by law or for fraud prevention/backups for a limited period).

6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CPRA, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others), you may have rights to: access, correct, or delete your personal information; obtain a copy/portability; and opt out of targeted advertising, profiling, or the "sale/sharing" of personal information. California residents may exercise "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" and are entitled to non-discrimination for exercising rights. To exercise any right, email legal@smackin.co; we will verify and respond within the timeframes required by law. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR; our legal bases include contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation.

7. SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls). No method is 100% secure; use the app at your own risk and protect your password.

8. CHILDREN
smackin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact legal@smackin.co and we will delete it.

9. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS & EMAIL
With your permission we may send push notifications and emails about activity, updates, and promotions. You can opt out anytime in device settings or via the unsubscribe link in emails.

10. INTERNATIONAL USERS
We operate in the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., you consent to processing your information in the U.S. and other countries.

11. CHANGES
We may update this Policy; material changes will be notified in-app or by other reasonable means.
